Conveyance Inter Vivos

Quick note: I wrote this post while studying for Paper 1, and I’m bringing this post here with a couple of edits.

The transfer of property (conveyance) while the owner is still alive (inter vivos). This *probably* includes the purchase and sale of property, gifts, and trusts, and all the property types, built and under construction.

I say “probably” because, while studying for the real estate salesperson exams, we’ll get to this section and our school will say, “Oh, this is covered in Paper 2, Unit 4, so no worries here.”

For those of us studying for both Paper 1 and 2, great!

If we’re studying only for Paper 1…. Uh oh.

So now I have to re-create some/most/all of Paper 2’s Unit 4.

No clue what’s actually inside this section for Paper 1, and what of it is just for Paper 2. I mean, I have this list:

  • property transaction laws
  • conveyancing procedures
  • mortgages — (Mortgage)
  • taxation

And that just means… everything. Minus calculation?

To borrow someone else to do the swearing for me (I’ve decided to drop swearing ever since I got my licence, and this was written before that):

Thanks Geralt!

Right.

I’m going to continue and finish Paper 1, and then come back to this.
